Terms of Use
These Terms of Use ("Terms") cover your use of honeyivorycleaning.com and the cleaning services provided by Honey & Ivory Cleaning ("Honey & Ivory", "we", "us"), a licensed, bonded and insured company based in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. By using our website, requesting an estimate or booking a cleaning, you agree to these Terms. If you have a signed service agreement with us, that agreement controls wherever it differs from these Terms.
1. Using our website
You may use our website to learn about our services, request estimates, apply for work and contact us. Please don't misuse it: no submitting false information or someone else's details, no attempts to disrupt or hack the site, no automated scraping, and no use for any unlawful purpose. Website text, photos, logos and the Honey & Ivory name and design belong to us and may not be copied for commercial use without our permission. We work to keep information accurate, but prices, services and availability can change, and the website is provided "as is."
2. Estimates and quotes
- Prices on our website or given before we see your home are estimates only.
- Your quote is confirmed after a walkthrough (in person or by video) based on size, condition, checklist and frequency.
- If the home's condition on the day of service is significantly different from what was described (for example, after a party, renovation or long vacancy), we'll talk with you before continuing and may adjust the price or schedule extra time.
- Recurring rates assume the agreed frequency. If visits become less frequent, the rate may change to match.
3. What's included
Each cleaning follows your written checklist or service agreement. Add-ons, such as inside the oven or refrigerator, interior windows, laundry or baseboards, are scheduled in advance. If you'd like something extra on the day, our team will do it if time allows, and we may charge for the additional time. If there isn't enough time to finish everything, we'll prioritize with you and note what's left.
4. What we don't do
For the safety of our team and your property, we don't:
- Clean biohazards, including blood, bodily fluids, mold remediation, pest infestations or hoarding conditions
- Move furniture or items heavier than about 30 pounds, or anything that takes two people to lift
- Climb higher than a two-step stool, or clean exterior windows above the ground floor
- Handle firearms, prescription medications or cash
- Clean surfaces we believe could be damaged by cleaning, or items you've told us are fragile or off-limits
- Work in homes with unsafe conditions, such as exposed wiring, active leaks or aggressive animals
Our full standards for safety and conduct are in our Housekeeper's Pledge.
5. Access, keys and pets
- Please make sure we can get in at the scheduled time: gate access, codes, keys or someone at home.
- Keys and codes are kept confidential, shared only with your assigned team, and returned or deleted when service ends.
- Please put away cash, jewelry, firearms, medications and irreplaceable items, or tell us where they are so we can avoid them.
- Tell us about pets, alarms, cameras and anything fragile, valuable or off-limits before your first visit.
- We love pets, but please secure any pet that may be anxious, aggressive or likely to escape. We are not responsible for pets that get out when doors must be opened for our work if we've been told to keep them closed and followed your instructions.
6. Scheduling, cancellations and lockouts
- We'll send reminders and an arrival window. Arrival times can shift because of traffic, weather or earlier jobs, and we'll text you if we're running more than 15 minutes late.
- Please give at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations with less notice may be charged a late-cancellation fee of up to 50% of the visit price.
- If we can't get in at the scheduled time (no key, wrong code, no one home) and can't reach you within 30 minutes, it's treated as a lockout and may be charged up to the full visit price.
- If we have to cancel, we'll tell you as soon as possible and offer the next available time at no extra charge.
- Fees are listed in your service agreement or confirmation and may be waived at the owners' discretion for emergencies.
7. Weather and emergencies
During hurricanes, tropical storms, evacuation orders, flooding or other emergencies, we may reschedule for everyone's safety. There's no fee to you when weather causes a change. We aren't responsible for delays caused by events outside our control.
8. Payment and invoices
- Unless your agreement says otherwise, payment is due when the cleaning is complete. We'll send an invoice or payment link by text or email.
- We accept major cards and other methods listed on your invoice. Card payments are processed securely by our payment processor (such as Stripe). We may ask to keep a card on file for recurring service.
- Commercial clients may be invoiced on agreed terms, such as net 15.
- Prices don't include sales tax. Florida sales tax is added where the law requires it, including on most non-residential (commercial) cleaning.
- Balances more than 15 days past due may pause future visits and may be charged a late fee of $25 or 1.5% per month, whichever is less, as allowed by Florida law. Returned payments may be charged a fee as allowed by Florida law.
- If you think a charge is wrong, contact us within 30 days and we'll review it with you.
9. Tips
Tips are never expected and always appreciated. When you leave a tip through our payment link, 100% of it goes to the team members who cleaned for you.
10. Our satisfaction promise
If something on your checklist was missed or isn't right, tell us within 24 hours of your cleaning (photos help) and we'll come back to re-clean those areas at no charge, usually within 2 business days. Because cleaning is a service that can't be returned, we offer re-cleans rather than refunds. If we can't make it right, the owners will work with you directly on a fair solution.
11. Breakage and damage
- Our team is trained to tell you right away if anything is broken or damaged. Please report any damage you find to us within 48 hours of the visit.
- We'll review what happened. If we're responsible, we'll repair or replace the item, or reimburse its reasonable current value, at our option. Larger claims may go through our liability insurance.
- We aren't responsible for normal wear and tear, items that were already damaged, loose or improperly installed, damage caused by products you asked us to use, or items of special sentimental value beyond their replacement cost.
- Our bond covers theft by our team members, as provided by its terms.
12. Our team
- Every team member is background-checked and trained to our standards.
- We expect our team to be treated with respect. We may end a visit, without a refund for the visit, if a team member is harassed, threatened or put in an unsafe situation.
- Because we invest in recruiting, checking and training our people, you agree not to hire a Honey & Ivory team member or contractor introduced to you through us to clean for you privately, while you're a client and for 12 months afterward, unless you pay a placement fee of $1,500. Just ask us first; we may be able to work something out.
13. Texts and emails
If you opt in, we'll text you about appointments, and separately, if you choose, about specials. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies, message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP at any time. See our SMS / Text Message Terms, which are part of these Terms.
14. Referral credits
When we offer referral credits, they're applied to a future cleaning after the referred client's first paid visit. Credits have no cash value, can't be transferred and may change or end at any time without affecting credits already earned.
15. Reviews and feedback
We welcome honest feedback. If you send us a review or survey comment, you allow us to use it, with your first name and town only, to improve and promote our services, unless you ask us not to.
16. Limits of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by Florida law, Honey & Ivory is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, such as lost profits, lost rental income or the cost of a hotel stay. Our total liability for any claim related to a cleaning is limited to the greater of the price of that cleaning or the amount paid by our insurance for that claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for gross negligence or intentional misconduct.
17. Disputes and governing law
If you're unhappy, please contact the owners first. Most concerns are solved with one conversation. If we can't resolve a dispute informally within 30 days, either of us may bring a claim in small claims court or in the state courts located in Manatee County, Florida. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida.
18. General terms
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a term isn't a waiver of it. We may update these Terms. Changes apply to services booked after the new effective date posted here. These Terms, together with any written service agreement, our Privacy Policy and our SMS / Text Message Terms, are the full agreement between you and Honey & Ivory.
